Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear : Sally LaPointe

I was first introduced to Sally LaPointe when I saw Gigi Hadid wear a gorgeous gown by the New-York based, young designer to a Maybelline Makeup event in Berlin. I also saw Kendall Jenner wear a gorgeous fur sweater from the brand, but at the time I couldn't find where it was from - but it is evident that the sweater was indeed, from Sally LaPointe.

Fur Sweaters are exactly what Sally LaPointe is known for, so it made sense for them to be the predominant highlight of the collection. Every look she included in her Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear collection included fur, and the style of the looks were casual luxe. I love her outlook on fashion, and I think she is an underestimated designer, and her fashion house will only expand and thrive in the upcoming seasons. This collection was everything I wanted to see for fall/winter, without looking heavy. Sometimes with winter collections the outerwear is so heavy which is good to an extent, but I love how Sally conveyed a more lighter vibe, whilst still keeping her clothing warm and practical. The colour palette of the collection was quite minimal, using tones rather than what I would call colours. The autumnal palette contributed to the luxurious feel of the collection, and when combined with matching fur - these looks truly were masterpieces.

Having said that, the burst of colour around the middle of the show added interest. The singular purple with black vertical stripes teamed with an organge and bag and rainbow coloured fur was beautiful. The rainbow fur being carried into the next couple of looks are pieces that are perfect for Autumn. I loved this collection.
