MFW : Versace Spring/Summer 2016

Donatella Versace is such an iconic woman in fashion. She is incredible, and every season her collections really live up to her well respected status. She never designs for women who want to "blend within the crowd," she wants to make her clients feel confident, empowering and sexy.

She has definitely tried something a little different with this collection, although full of bold colours and beautiful embellishments on dresses, as seen on Gigi Hadid in this show, the looks were rather casual and it featured masculine pieces such as boyish pants and flats. Versace are known to deliver huge heels which having said that, were also in this show. Versace is always about being different and bold, standing out from the crowd and enforcing the woman to feel the best version of herself, whilst taking a risk.

The first looks which graced the runway, military inspired jackets pinched at the waist with a huge versace logo belt over shorts were something we would have expected - and loved. However, what was to come did surprise me. Neon camouflage prints on boyish looks, teamed with small backpacks and sporty flats were a surprise. It was different, but good to see Donatella venturing out. Her main focus and concept is to design for today's woman. She doesn't think about the future, she thinks about the here and now and what we want to wear and what we want to see.

The collection was a huge triumph for Versace. Even though she ventured into more daywear, she still kept it sexy and feminine.
