LFW : SS16 Burberry Prorsum

If you follow me on instagram and social media, you will know that I have always been a fan of Burberry. Since I started my blog 18 months ago, Burberry has always been an inspiration of mine. The feel, the tradition and british vibe of the brand has always had a huge influence on my own personal style - and I think it always will do. Every LFW I think Burberry is always a highlight. Fashion lovers, editors and industry personnel come together to see what they have to offer - and I think this collection has to be one of my favourites so far. The show was attended by some of Britain's finest fashionable women - from Cara Delevigne to Sienna Miller, and Naomie Harris to Kate Moss. The atmosphere itself seemed incredible.

One of the reasons I always look forward to a Burberry show, is because each season they are completely different. They have traditional Burberry classics such as the trench coat, and horseferry check materials in there somewhere but it is always remastered and altered to give a new look. It's very refreshing to see. The past two seasons have been rather casual - especially this one. I think Christopher Bailey is really trying to touch down with comfort with this collection. For example, he has included flats and rucksacks - giving more of an option for those women who aren't necessarily heels and clutch bags - like myself.

The contrast between the sportswear and classic vintage pieces were expected not to work - but it just does. Burberry is a brand known to be inspired by the heritage of Britain, but Bailey is so forward thinking which not only caters for the client's needs - but its just so exciting to see. Another thing that I love about Burberry is the fact that Christopher Bailey always wants to move Burberry with the times - in terms of technology. With this casual type of collection, he really is moving with the times - like i said, comfort and versatility.

Two women who could have potentially had an influence on this collection were in attendance, Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne. Kate made the slip dress a huge fashion hit in the 90s, and Cara is very current with a huge amount of influence on young women. A lot of the pieces today would have been something she would certainly wear. The AW14 Poncho which Cara wore on the runway, embroidered with her initials became a huge internet craze. Now, at this show, Cara was seen with the backpack which was featured in the show with her initials on it. I can only be certain that that bag will now follow the same path.
