Spring/Summer 2016 Ready-to-Wear : Diane von Furstenburg

This is the year that marks the 40th anniversary of Diane's invention of the iconic wrap dress. Every woman (I am almost certain) will either wear or see a wrap dress in their lives. They are the most flattering dress on a woman, in my opinion. Diane was the brains behind this incredible creation. I was in selfridges only recently, and I spent a few minutes just admiring the new collection she has released.

This collection was a breath of fresh air. Completely contrasting from her last AW15 collection which was very dark and sexy. This collection breathed more innocence and delicacy - which was so lovely to see. DVF is such a feminine brand anyway so seeing a fairytale collection like this was great. One of my personal favourite highlights from this collection was the beautiful chiffon fabric as seen on Kendall Jenner which was impeccably embroidered. It was as if festival vibes has taken over Diane's inspiration, which will definitely be a hit next Spring/Summer as it always is every year.

The iconic Diane feel was still very much alive with bold prints and sold colours, teamed with metallic looks and patterned fabrics. The models looked effortlessly gorgeous with brushed out waves and bright eyeshadow, which I think will also be lovely this SS16.
