Spring/Summer 2016 Ready-to-Wear : Vera Wang

This has to be one of my favourite collections so far at NYFW. I loved every single look in this collection, and it's actually the first Vera Wang collection I have seen that is not bridal wear. She has completely branched out into something different - and it just worked.

This collection is very similar to Alexander Wang's collections, but with more of a feminine feel - which is very me. Binx opened the show in platform heels, high waisted hot pants, a bandeaux and an oversized coat. All black, simple - but sexy. Especially for the brave! Most of this collection was black, with hints of colour popping up here and there. She completely contrasted the safe colour palette with the revealing pieces. Tailored coats were a huge aspect of the collection, alongside modernised cut out dresses which gave a sporty feel, dressed up with chunky heels. Sheer shirts teamed with skater skirts and huge oversized shirts were a highlight. The collection overall was very dark, but nethertheless, sexy, empowering and brave.

I absolutely adored the gorgeous ostrich plumes she incorporated into the collection, giving a dark romance feel into the harsh, structured set. Chrome and gold embroiled dresses were captivating and perfect for nights out - she definitely gave us an "all round" wardrobe collection here, and i cannot wait to look out for her in the AW16 shows.
