Fall 2015 Couture : Elie Saab

I've always had a soft spot for Elie Saab, but when I visited his Parisian store just a 4 minute walk from Avenue Montaingne, it had turned into something much more than that. His pieces were immaculately placed, in perfect colour coordination and same distance apart. I remember the windows being huge and open, letting the spring Parisian sun glow into the store. It was one of my favourites I had visited in Paris and without a doubt, would visit again.

Since then, I have kept a close eye on his collections. Eagerly anticipating his creations, especially the Haute Couture ones. Likewise to Zuhair Murad, his collects project a fairytale, making the women who wear his captivating designs - feel like a princess. Elie Saab is for sure very popular among A-Listers at huge formal events such as The Oscars because his collections are always so red-carpet ready. I rarely see any daywear from Elie Saab but it's refreshing to see a fantasy grace the catwalk.

On July 8th, only a day or two after the show, Saab had hosted a party to celebrate the opening of his second boutique in Paris which I long to visit when I next take a trip to France. His iconic designs are always embroider with sequins, beads and crystals which really show off the luxury creations. From season to season, Saab's colour palette often varies, and this time around he has opted for a more Gold and Silver theme - with pops of colour here and there.

Beyond the glitz and glamour of this collection, the highlight which distinguishes this collection from his pervious ones is the more innocent and delicate feel to the pieces. Very virginial and lovely - which will almost certainly make a woman feel every inch the feminine princess. I was pleasantly surprised to see different types of dresses grace the runway - from straight floor length gowns to huge flowering ones to even tunics! Very pleasing to the eye and grasps at different women's tastes in formal wear. Obviously, there is always some repititon in Saab's collections because as previously mentioned, his creations are always so luxurious and formal, but he always adds something new which is what is keeping the industry more and more excited for his incredible pieces.
