AW15 : Valentino

If you follow me on Instagram or other social media, you will know I am a huge fan of Valentino. It's one of them brands that release new collections each season that keep on giving and giving. In my opinion, Valentino collections are those collections that you cannot stop looking at - its very pleasing to the eye.

In this AW15 collection, I felt that there were several collections squeezed into one show. Catering for all styles of women. From slick monochrome looks to beautiful laces pieces. The thing that really stood out for this show, making it the most instagrammable, was Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller closing the show as Derek Zoolander and Hansel McDonald. Amazing … genius almost. A comical effect on the show, which was such a great media move. Everyone went crazy. Maybe the fact that the much anticipated Zoolander 2 is being filmed in Valentino's beautiful hometown of Rome. Attended by the beautiful Cara Delevingne, this show was one to remember. Often, Valentino's current creative directors, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccoli, often venture into their Italian origins for Valentino collections. They often give us the old italian romance vibe, which makes Valentino so lovely. Oversized sweaters teamed with monochrome pieces, and then teamed with bold embroidered prints made us all excited for the AW season - knowing we can see the winter in style. The collection started as somewhat casual. It certainly was not what I was expecting from a Valentino collection .. I liked that because it was still completely me. As the collection progressed, we could see the traditional Valentino come to light, and I loved the fact that there were so many designs within one season.

As always, it was the gowns towards the end of the show which made us gasp in awe. Beautiful and captivating - as expected. They reached the high expectations of the fashion industry. A highlight for me was the accessories. I am such a huge fan of shoes and bags. I loved the latex boots in all colours with a large featured zip. Bags with features so you could hold them comfortably. The new norm.
