Pre-Fall 2015 : Givenchy

Givenchy is by far one of my favourite brands this SS15. So I was looking forward to see their AW15 looks which will be showcasing at Paris Fashion Week. I really hoped that Givenchy would carry on with their gladiatorial, empowering and sexy looks. Which they did - just toned down subtly. Riccardo Tisci incorporated suiting, layering, embroidering and prints. Something I absolutely adored about the SS15 collection from Givenchy. The collection began with essential monochrome, structured pieces. Very simple but fierce - giving the look a structured, flawless finish. The collection then advanced into a series of Polka-Dot looks which I didn't actually expect. Nevertheless, the pieces just oozed that tailored appeal. Chiffon dresses with silk collars were a highlight. Some looks were printed with beautiful floral patterns, embroidered with Swarovski crystals.

The skirts within this collection were generally fuller and graced the knees - making skirts wearable for the colder weather. The footwear styles are probably my favourite feature within the collection. The styles were mounted on a centrally placed stiletto, giving the look of a mannequin nailed to the ground. Word has it, that these shoes are perfectly comfortable and are well balanced. I need a pair in my life!

Being a French brand, I thought that the collection actually conveyed an Italian feel. Having said that, Riccardo Tisci is Italian himself, so he has definitely brought the culture to this collection. I absolutely love it!
