SS15 : Versace

I'm going to firstly start apologising for neglecting my blog. I have been super busy recently. Finishing college assignments, christmas shopping, ahhhh its all been madness to say the least! Hopefully over Christmas I will be writing more blog posts on my style swell as trends, campaigns and whats generally going on within the fashion industry.

Today, I am going to be writing about Versace. One of the biggest names in fashion. Donatella Versace, the bleach blonde haired, fashion genius has done it again. Taking over from her brother, Donatella never fails to disappoint. Every Versace collection delivers as expected. The classic Medusa logo, aswell as sharp shapes and gold patterned pieces. That is how we know Versace, and that is Versace at it's very best. I watched a documentary of Donatella backstage at one of her shows a few years ago, and she came across so down-to-earth and nice, which is something I love to see within the industry - a friendly personality who seems approachable. Donatella is actually one of the designs I long to meet, for many reasons.

I decided to write about SS15 Versace because I haven't written about Versace before and wanted to share it with you guys. It's great for those women who aren't so girly girl, but do like  feminine edge. I think that is what Donatella embraces when she designs a collection, empowerment and strength to women. I had obviously seen Versace before, and some of the pieces aren't necessarily to my taste - I'm not one to go for bold gold accessories - However, I would wear every single piece of this collection. Graphic slashes upon colour blocking really gave the Collection that uniqueness, something Versace hadn't done previously. The classic black versace pieces made an entrance on the catwalk first which I loved. So minimalistic and simple, yet so feminine and strong. The collection was filled with strong silhouettes, bold colours and lack of embellishment - which delivered us a fantastic collection. Crystal mesh was included swell as the signature medusa head imprinted on metal jewellery. Donatella really went to town with this collection. The dark tailoring aspect of this collection was complimented with bold, white stitching which was different yet exquisite. Seeing her Versus Versace collection in the flesh only days ago, I really expected huge things from her, and she delivered with a bang. The collection gave us the Sexy feel, alongside the "I don't give a fuck" attitude - I like it.
