AW14 : Chanel

I had the pleasure of visiting the Chanel 158-159 New Bond Street store, very recently. I took a break from my studies of Fashion Retail and spent 2 hours looking around. I spotted Chanel and I just couldn't resist going in. I was greeted by a kind gentleman at the door, who welcomed me to the store. I literally walked in and my jaw dropped the floor - the store was mesmerisingly beautiful. It was huge aswell. Chanel stock their collections per season, and there are only a limited amount of pieces. There was so much space and the atmosphere was relaxed and calm - I really loved that about the store. The reason I have mentioned is this is because I was then able to witness the collection in the flesh - and it's just as beautiful as they are on the catwalk. My favourite piece was a tailored jacket and skirt, which is featured below. It was a camel colour with deep pink lining around the edges and I instantly just needed it in my wardrobe. Beautiful!

The A/W14 Catwalk was designed like a supermarket, the "un Grand Magasin" under the iconic double C logo. The shelves of the beautiful set were stocked with hundreds of thousands of items - but there were no bargains in this supermarket thats for sure! It was nice on the eye with Lagerfeld's unique twist and that's what everyone embraces about Chanel's shows. The sets and the atmosphere. Bold colours and beautiful detailing were all over the pieces with unique twists which really made Chanel, Chanel. The Tweed was also back - all that Chanel is infamous for. In all different colour combinations, there is a tweed piece for everyone. I personally loved the first look Cara Delevingne wore. The sported look was different from what I would usually love and wear - but when something is worn by Cara - I instantly adore it. The bright pink Co-Ord number (as recently seen on Kim Kardashian in pale pink whislt in Paris) is a must have. Teamed with Chanel Sneakers, you have the timeless sport luxe look, J'Adore. Who new that trainers could be couture? Well I suppose anything Karl says goes, and he has certainly proven that with this amazing collection.

Famous names were under the limelight in this show. Joan Smalls, Binx Walton and Kendall also made an appearance, making the show even more that exquisite and enjoyable. Alongside the sporty looks, beautifully detailed smock dresses were available and oversized coats - which are hot this season. Every girl should have a oversized coat in their wardrobe and why not look to Chanel for inspiration? I certainly will be! Aswell as the brightly coloured pieces, there was a section within the show that incorporated dark colours which convey those winter vibes. I love the fact Karl has incorporated black and greys which will appeal to the women who aren't as bold and vibrant.  Contrasting, towards the end, beautiful pastel colours were featured with floral detailing for that "Snow Queen" feminine vibe. The show concluded with Cara and Karl gracing the catwalk holding hands, two icons together to end a iconic show - thats how you do it. So ladies, get shopping!
